Frequently Asked Questions
Do barebone gaming pcs come with an operating system?
Most barebone gaming pcs do not include an operating system as they are designed for DIY installation. You will need to purchase and install Windows or Linux separately depending on your preference. Some kits may offer a complimentary OS key upon contacting support.
What RAM speed should I use for gaming?
DDR4 kits typically support up to 3200MHz for best performance. For DDR5 kits look for 5600MHz or higher to maximize bandwidth for modern games and multitasking.
Can I use OCuLink for external GPUs on any kit?
Only kits with a dedicated OCuLink port support external GPUs with low latency. Verify the product specs for OCuLink presence before purchasing if this is a requirement for your build.
Are barebone kits easier to build than standard PCs?
Barebone kits can be easier because the chassis and motherboard are pre-assembled together. However you must install CPU RAM storage and OS yourself which still requires basic technical knowledge.
How do I choose the right processor?
Match the processor to your socket type and thermal limits. For gaming prioritize high core counts and clock speeds but verify the kit supports the exact model.
Do these kits support RGB lighting?
Some kits offer RGB headers but many compact barebones do not have built-in RGB zones. If lighting is important look for models with specific RGB support features.
What is the advantage of a vapor chamber cooler?
Vapor chamber coolers transfer heat faster than standard heat pipes to maintain lower CPU temperatures under load. This ensures stable performance during extended gaming sessions.
